Del 29 de abril al 1 de mayo de 2022 From April 29 to May 1, 2022, the fourth edition of the Cemita Poblana Festival was held on the esplanade of the Centro Escolar Niños Héroes de Chapultepec (CENHCH).

In an interview with Poblanerías, Salvador Arizmendi Vélez, director of the Festival, mentioned that during the event, they will seek to break two world records.

One is to make the largest cemita in the world, which weighs around 15 kilos; and the other is the most cemitas eaten during a weekend.

We will have some records to break this year, such as the world’s largest cemita, which, in the last edition, weighed 12 kilos and now we hope to make it 15 kilos, as well as the record for the most cemitas eaten during a weekend”.

This festival is an event with free access to the public that takes place on the esplanade of the CENHCH, which is located on the corner of 5 de Mayo Boulevard with 19 Oriente.

For this 2022, the participation of more than 50 stalls from different places in the capital of Puebla has been confirmed, each one preparing different specialties, from the traditional Milanese to the gourmet ones.

The sale will start at 10 a.m. and will be available until 6 p.m. In addition, a table area will be set up in case someone wants to buy from two different stalls.

According to Salvador Arizmendi, between April 29 and May 1, they hope to sell more than 35 thousand cemitas among all the people who attend the event, who will be able to listen to different music bands such as Sonora Dinamita.

There will also be conferences and talks, as well as 36 hours of shows.

This edition will be the fourth to be held in person, being the first to be held since 2019, since during the pandemic they held two editions online.

Arizmendi Vélez mentioned that during the Cemita Festival the different ingredients to prepare this traditional dish will be sold, such as bread, avocado and cheese for those who want to prepare their own cemitas or take them home.
